Thank you for the reply, Verton,

You make some good points, particularly concerning the religious aspects and have given me food for thought.

The solutions I have proposed are from a receiving nation, maybe being naive, but they will need somewhere to live, they will need medical care and education for their children. All of which are in the Governments hands.

What I have not considered is why they left in the first place (and not just Afghanistan). I'm not sure how relevant the religious question is, maybe its not Muslims moving to Christian countries, but poorer Middle Eastern people moving to wealthier Western countries for better employment and life prospects.

Islam is based in the Middle East, which has a history of inter-nation conflict and maybe the West, Christian or otherwise offers a safer haven.
