Education in the humanities is a good point, and the human touch is sometimes lacking in today's politics.

The danger will come if human fallibility is written into the programs. We have already seen examples of bias in some systems (skin colour in automatic hand washers, space suits only designed for men) and these were not life and death decisions. Quotes, such as "We don't really know how it is learning," do not fill you with confidence.

The other problem is that legislators are not scientists, so the latter will need to (a) Be listened to and (b) Bear a lot of responsibility for any legislation drawn up. This is a real problem in the UK.

This was a good piece and I enjoyed reading it
